I just got done rebuilding my 79' Ironhead. From new connecting rods to new valves and guides. Still using the stock cams and pushrods. The cylinders are now .040 over stock. Everything is sounding good and running good so far. The problem that I'm having is at high rpm's it starts to spit and sputter like it's starving for fuel, just losing power..

If your timing curve is over advanced at this rpm and throttle position, this is the point where you are most likely to get a "stuttering" effect from severe detonation. I have noticed that when getting on it, once in a while it will sputter at high RPM and not go any higher in the rev range. I always have to let off.
